On March 26, SCI successfully conducted the Launch Meeting for the National Service Industry Standardization Demonstration Project under the theme “Empowering Coordinated Industry Development and Driving Digital and Intelligent Transformation Through Standardization”. Over a hundred participants were invited to the event, including Guo Dalei, a member of the China National Standardization Expert Committee and a member of the Shandong Provincial High-end Standardization Expert Committee; Pan Aijuan, Deputy Director of the Standardization Department of the Shandong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation; Chen Hao, Chairman of the Shandong Standardization Association; Su Kai, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of Zibo Municipal Administration for Market Regulation; Su Zhenhua, Deputy Secretary and District Mayor of the Zhangdian District CPC Committee; Liu Zhengdao, Deputy District Mayor of the Zhangdian District People’s Government; along with leaders from the Zibo Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, the Zibo Municipal Bureau of Big Data, the Zhangdian District People’s Government, standardization research institutions, and enterprises. The participants gathered at the SCI Hi-Tech Industrial Park to deliberate on the vital role of standardization in enterprise development, explore effective mechanisms for enhancing government-enterprise collaboration, and leverage standards to drive the coordinated advancement of information services for bulk commodities.

On January 10, 2024, the “Shandong SCI Commodity Information Service Standardization Demonstration Project” stood out among numerous projects from 34 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country. It was selected as a national standardization demonstration project, establishing SCI as the first enterprise in the commodity information service sector to receive this prestigious recognition. Building on this success, SCI will uphold its role as an “industry standardization pioneer”, further cultivate government-enterprise collaborations to advance industry growth, and promote increased participation of businesses in standardization initiatives.

Chen Hao, Chairman of the Shandong Standardization Association, announced the “Notice of the Shandong Standardization Association on Issuing the Tenth Batch of Association Standard Revision Plans for 2024”. He emphasized that moving forward, the association will partner with SCI on association standard development to enhance enterprise standardization practices and play a pivotal role in expediting the execution of China’s standardization strategy.

Over the years, SCI has achieved numerous milestones in standardization that have been widely implemented in various markets. At the meeting, Agriculture Senior Manager Zhang Lili showcased SCI’s standard for price collection of swine and pork. Currently, leveraging its expertise in commodity price monitoring, data analysis, and industry research, SCI actively collaborates with government departments, commodity exchanges, and other authoritative entities to jointly release a series of influential commodity price indices. For instance, the Department of Price at the National Development and Reform Commission, in collaboration with SCI, has launched several notable industry indices, including swine/feed index, chicken/feed index, egg/feed index and steel price index. Moreover, SCI has initiated over a dozen index projects in collaboration with exchanges, industry associations, and enterprises, providing professional services to assist the government in implementing economic regulation and guiding industries towards healthy and sustainable development.
During the meeting, Shao Feng, the Section Chief of Standardization at the Shandong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, delivered a presentation on standardization policies. Representatives from various industries actively engaged in the discussion, offering their insights and outlining fresh visions for upcoming standardization work in the domain of bulk commodity information services.
